Malen auf dem Tablet/Painting on a tablet

Nach zahlreichen Versuchen und misslungenen Ergebnissen habe ich mich langsam mit diesem neuen Medium angefreundet. Das Lehrbuch von Matthew Palmer "Painting without paint" diente mir als Anschauungsmaterial für die Motive, die ich nachgemalt habe.
Es war eine große Umstellung, auf Papier, Pinseln und Farben zu verzichten. Auch wenn die Umsetzung jetzt besser klappt, fehlt mir doch die taktile Empfindung und die Dynamik der Farbverläufe.
Zudem gab es noch die Schwierigkeit, eine andere Zeichenapp zu finden, da ich ein Android-Tablet besitze.
Am besten funktioniert die Umsetzung mit "Autodesk Sketchbook Pro".
Die meisten Arbeitsschritte kann man von "Brushes" in diese App umsetzen. Es empfiehlt sich jedoch, vor dem Malen mit dem Zeichenprogramm zu spielen. d.h. alle Funkionen auszuprobieren. Leider ist der Hilfetext von Sketchbook Pro nicht sehr informativ. Ein großes Manko ist das Fehlen von verschiedenen vorgefertigten Pinseln, mit denen man Wolken, Blätter und andere Strukturen einfacher darstellen kann.

After many attempts und failed results I slowly came to appreciate this new kind of medium. With the textbook "Painting without paint" by Matthew Palmer I painted some of the motives depicted there.
It was a big switch to give up on paper, brush and... Even though the transfer works better now I still have problems with the tactile perceptions and the dynamic color gradients.
Additionally it was hard to find an adequate painting app, because I use an android tablet. I found Autodesk Sketchbook Pro to be sufficient for the task, it has most of the features "Brushes" (for iOS) provides.
I recommend playing around with the apps to discover all the different functions. Sadly the help texts are not very informative.
A big flaw of Sketchbook Pro is that many premade brushes for e.g. clouds, leaves and other structures are missing.
                                                                                                                                                     

Landscape with sunset / Landschaft mit Sonnenuntergang

Bei diesem Bild konnte ich den Schritten des Buches folgen. Die einzige Schwierigkeit ist die Darstellung der Wolken. Aber mit dem Hilfsmittel "Texturen" kann man verschiedene Strukturen nachahmen.

For this picture I could follow the steps described in the book. The only problem I had was the depiction of the clouds. But with the tool "textures" you can imitate certain structures.

Figures / Menschen

Verwirrend ist, dass auch Bleistifte als Pinsel bezeichnet werden. Um dünne Linien oder wie hier, die Umrisse der Figur zu malen, sollte man vorher mit den Pinselstrichen vertraut machen. Die Farbverläufe und Schattierungen gelingen mit "Verwischen". Genaueres Zeichnen von Details kann man durch Vergrößern des Bildausschnitts erreichen.

It's a bit confusing that penciles are also called brushes. For thin lines or outlining of figures as in this example, you should try different strokes. The color gradients and shading work with the "blur" feature. More detailed drawing you can zoom into a picture detail.

Dieses Bild ist aus vier Ebenen aufgebaut. Farben und Technik werden im Buch genau erklärt. Zusätzlich habe ich wieder die Verwischmöglichkeit angewendet, um die Farbverläufe der Berge und der Wiesenlandschaft weicher darzustellen.

This picture consists of four layers. Colors and technice are explained in detail in the book. Additionally I used the blur feature to get a smoother color gradient for the mountains and landscape.
